ENGINE 1633/QUINT 1679 OPERATOR HANDBOOK

This handbook was created as an informational tool to assist new recruit firefighters approaching the end of their probationary period with learning the basic necessities of functioning as an Engine/Quint operator. Also, it is recommended for all qualified First Class Engine/Quint operators to review this handbook for in-service training and forward any and all recommendations to the division of training.

Review of this handbook DOES NOT negate the

need for essential hands-on training!

FIREGROUND SIMULATIONS

Featured in this module are a variety of fireground simulations. This module will continually be updated by the Division of Training. Utilize these to practice initial radio reports and follow up radio reports. Also, discuss and refine the size-up process and fireground strategy & tactics.
